We have a new UK Board Games Champion!
We took to the boards recently to complete the final stage of the National Board Games Championship.
The championships are the brainchild of ourselves and our client Pork Farms and have been a huge success reaching over three million people and creating nationwide engagement for our client.
We’ve been running the campaign over the last six months, encouraging board game enthusiasts nationwide to get involved and after months of competitive heat rounds the weekend saw the final battle of the championships.
Kent micropub, One Inn the Wood acted as the venue for the last leg of this year’s contest, where players put their gaming skills to the test over five games including Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit 2000s and Jenga during National Board Games Week. After beating off stiff competition we joined our client in announcing Harry Rush as the new National Board Games Champion for 2017.
Harry Rush, who represented the Admiral’s Arm micropub in Queensborough, came out with the highest score, and celebrated with support of his friends and family at the event.
Michael Holton, brand marketing manager at Pork Farms, who awarded the new champion on the day, said: “The atmosphere of today’s event has just been fantastic, a huge well done to our new National Board Games Champion Harry Rush, who brought some incredible gaming skills to the table. The camaraderie and support from players, friends and family has been superb, all games were battled fairly and with some great tactics!
“As a company we really want to celebrate the best of British and bring people and communities together and what better way than some friendly competition over the nation’s favourite board games. Thanks to the team at KRPR, the championships have been a huge success for the second year running, proving to be a real highlight of the spring and summer calendar and who knows, potentially another award-winning campaign too if the judges agree!”
